The old dwarf and his daughter in law were having a nice dispute. They were often arguing with each others, but it was mostly for the fun of it. Inan really liked his bru. She had a sweet personality but she was also a real dwarf woman, stubborn and never putting aside her convictions and, since he took his retirement from his adventuring life, he was enjoying these simple moments with her or the time spent with his granddaughter. His relations with his son, Musin, were more complicated though. Enina, as most of dwarves women, was taking care of the house while her husband was working outside and she was glad to have somebody to spend some time with, even if her daughter was often with her too. Thing rare for a male dwarf, Inan was often helping her with the chores of the house. Dwarves who spent a lot of years in the outside world were often considerate to be excentric, to say the least. Even more for adventurers like Inan, who had seen a lot of the world and had often mingled with other races. Enina had red hair and blue eyes, traits she gave to her son and her daughter. She was of average size for a dwarf woman. Her body was strong and muscular, but not devoid of grace. She was born in the Rorhéorimm clan, the "Thunder Makers". A powerful clan, specialised into the creation of explosives. Although, not all families from this clan were powerful and Enina was coming from one of these modest branches. Inan was still a strong looking dwarf for his 316 years. His long beard and white hair, who used to be black when he was younger, gave him the look of a wise "man" and it was clear by looking at his blue eyes that he had seen a lot. Enina and Inan were still arguing on something when, suddenly, they heard a lot of noises coming from outside. The door of the house opened quite violently, surprising them. It was Beotna, the daughter of Enina and grandaughter of Inan. She was standing in front of the entrance and was clearly very excited. " Mother ! Grandfather ! Look who is with me ! Look who has came back !" She stood aside from the door entrance and let Romatzo entering the place. Inan stood up, agape. Enina let the plate she was holding drop from her hands. Her son ! It was her son ! Romatzo had been a taboo subject since he left the city almost 15 years ago. She could hear his name, sometimes, whispered in the mouth of Inan and Beotna, but in the presence of her husband his name was unacceptable. She herself never brought up his name either, by respect for her husband, but also because of the harm Romatzo made to the family's reputation. But not a day had passed without her thinking to him at least once. Romatzo was trying to appear confident and strong, but he was actually very tensed. Being back in his birth place, meeting again with his sister earlier and now seeing his mother and grandfather was a lot to take. Minalva, who was behind him, could feel his struggle and she would have liked to be able to support him openly. After the initial shock, Inan's reaction to Romatzo's presence was very different to the one of Beotna not long before. He welcomed Romatzo with a big smile and a very joyful laugh. They approached to each others and Inan put his strong hands on the shoulders of his grandson. Romatzo and Inan were very close in the past and it's because of the stories of his adventures, that Inan was telling him when he was a little dwarf, that Romatzo decided to become an adventurer too. " Romatzo, is that really you ?" asked Inan. Romatzo simply nodded. "I am so glad to see you, my dear grandson. - I am glad to see you again too, grandfather." emotions could be heard in his voice. "I see you haven't changed. - And I see you have became a strong and powerful looking dwarf, Romatzo." They exchanged few more words, words people are saying when you meet somebody you haven't seen in a long time. Then Inan asked: "And who are these lovely ladies who accompany you ?" The girls had entered the house too. They were a little uncomfortable, not really knowing how to behave. Romatzo presented his friends and did a brief recap on why they were here. Meanwhile, Enina was still standing were she was when Romatzo made his entrance. She was beseted by strong and contradictory emotions, not knowing how to react. While he was explaining why they were here, Romatzo was regularly throwing a look at her. " I see..., said Inan. Well, I am sure you father might have some informations on those Orcs you are looking for. - That's what I am worried about." responded Romatzo in a whisper to be heard only by his grandfather. First surprised by this response, Inan agreed with a smile. The meeting of the father and the son will not be a happy reunion. Romatzo then turned to his mother. They looked at each others silently for a long moment. Both seeing the conflicting thoughts and the struggles in the eye of the other. Finally, taking a deep breath and making a step in her direction Romatzo started to say: " Mother..." But it is at this moment that a new person entered the room. " WHERE IS HE ?! Where is this "olkrash" ?!" It was Musin, Romatzo's father. __________________________________________ New storyline picture! I am a dummy! Hope you liked it and that you enjoyed the text too if you have read it. We have finally met officially Romatzo's grandfather, as well as his mother. I'll try to post a proper picture of her, now that she has been introduce. You will have to wait before seeing Romatzo's father, because I need to take a little break from the story. I think I have done too many complicated pictures lately and I need to do just some simpler ones, with only one or two characters in it, for a while. I might work on the next render for the story actually, but I'll do it by taking all my time. About the story, I think I did not say it officially (or if I did it I can't find where), but I have decided to make Romatzo 10 years olders than what he was until now. He is now 43 or 44 years old (haven't decided his exact birthdate yet), which is still quite young for a dwarf. Concerning his personal story, it makes more sense. It also put his absence from the city of Herrshilta to almost 10 years from almost 15 years. About the word "olkrask" that Musin is using at the end of the text, it means "worhtless stone" in dwarvish. Quite a strong insulte for a dwarf.
