he contracts with the US government for training new pilots because it is performance wise it is the same as the new aircraft. do a search with google and it explains better

fascinating history on that man (in your link): This is one of the hornets, I assume. Your pic has another big sweep, I love your composition, and those engines facing us have deep shadows underneath, to give this beast an air of darkness and mystery. The top half of the shot is filled with blasts of white all over the place. A very active sweeping shot, which shows off how planes can look like gigantic creatures from outer space, or like huuuuge insecst. Real eye candy.
