"You might say I'm a dreamer"
I have loved photography since I was a child and also love graphic art (I am the kind of person that WILL buy a book or CD for its cover) but sadly I only became aware of 3D art after crossing paths with Dragonluna. I immediately fell in love with her work and after a while decided to give it try, mostly because I wanted to make pics to go along with a fanfic I was writing. I am neither a writer nor a 3D artist, I just like to daydream and have ideas and fantasies, and I love anything that has to do with visual art. I am still very limited with the program and have loads to learn and I am also quite fearful of posting my pics considering the high quality of the renders on this site, but I guess we all have to start somewhere and this is where I start, sharing my fantasies with you. Thank you for the taking the time to look at my work. :)

Oooh, the colored light looks fabulous here! I've never tried that with a portrait, but it works so well with the character, her pose, and of course the butterfly. Stunning!

Thank you so much Amy! I have experimented with colored rims in RL and I love using them in 3D too. Sadly there seems to be a bug in the Level Up lights as of the beginning of November, the colored rims don't work anymore, they come out white. That was when I first noticed it but I thought maybe I had indadvertedly changed the settings, and then my muse went on strike until February, so i only just recently informed A-Ohki of this and she is looking into it. This is actually a Poser scene that I did in October and all I did was substitute the character and change the light color, for some odd reason if you open an old scene from when they worked they still do. Luckily I don't delete old scene files.

Beautiful! I love the mirror effect of the butterfly in her hand vs. the tattoo on her back. :) Also, great hair choice. Well done, my friend!

Thank you Lizzie, I am so glad you like it! I love her tattoo and my first thought when I saw it was to add a butterfly and/or flower to the scene. Tried several hairstyles too but I love how this looks on her. She's a beautiful character, thank you for creating her!

The use of the very bright red rim lighting from two directions as the primary light source is bold and you don't lose the tattoo completely. The impact by such strong emphasis on outline and contrasting light and shadow isn't something you see here often (and even more rarely so successfully realized). Very well done. In viewing at full resolution the hair is breathtakingly real in that light.
This must have taken some time to render so cleanly. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much Mollz!! I love experimenting with lighting in photography and I love shadows and contrasts. I love taking photos by windows, in pubs or by street lamps, even by candlelight, and it's also one of the reasons I love taking photos during concerts. These last few portraits are all inspired by photos I have taken over the past few years. It's a bit frustrating at times because I find it harder to achieve the same results that I do in photography but that's also part of the fun.
As for the render times, it didn't really take that long at all. I forgot to check the time and didn't realise I could check the Poser log until a few days after, but I believe it took roughly 1 and a half hours. I usually just leave the default Superfly settings unless I'm using DOF or certain lighting and then at the most I will increase the pixel samples a bit. But I confess that I am still very inexperienced when if comes to these things, and to be honest I have always been satisfied with the quality of the images. So far the images that have taken the longest to render are the two with the bunnies and the little girl, I think due to the DOF and the gingko tree. They took about 3 hours each to render.

Dramatic and lovely. The color of light gives it a whole new level.
