"You might say I'm a dreamer"
I have loved photography since I was a child and also love graphic art (I am the kind of person that WILL buy a book or CD for its cover) but sadly I only became aware of 3D art after crossing paths with Dragonluna. I immediately fell in love with her work and after a while decided to give it try, mostly because I wanted to make pics to go along with a fanfic I was writing. I am neither a writer nor a 3D artist, I just like to daydream and have ideas and fantasies, and I love anything that has to do with visual art. I am still very limited with the program and have loads to learn and I am also quite fearful of posting my pics considering the high quality of the renders on this site, but I guess we all have to start somewhere and this is where I start, sharing my fantasies with you. Thank you for the taking the time to look at my work. :)

Great Character. Dramatic portrait.

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

What a cool character, so nicely rendered, but what a painful moment he seems to be having, as conveyed by his expression and the hint of a tear in his eye. LOVE the lighting (and shadow)! Brings out a whole new aspect of this character. Speaking of which, that rendition of the Sound of Silence also brought out things I'm pretty sure I've never heard in the original! Somehow it became much more powerful. Thank you for sharing your image and the music video!

So many different reasons can cause such pain, like REM said, everybody hurts sometimes.
I usually don't like remakes of the classics, but in this case I remember being simply blown away the first time I heard Disturbed's cover if this song. And thanks to you for sharing this moment with me. <3

..great emotional scene and excellent expression and lightning

Thank you, much appreciated!
Nightwind
A stellar character for the song! Normally I don't like classic songs when they are remade but I think Disturbed's version far exceeds the original.
RubyTuesday70
Thank you so much Nightwind! I just said the same thing in a previous comment, I hate when they remake the classics but this is a winner. I like both in different ways, the original takes me right back to the past with it's vintage vibe, while Disturbed's version is what I listen to when I'm in a "mood". It's so powerful and helps me vent, always brings me to tears.

The deep shadows seem to show the long years that the character has. Great work! I like the original by Simon & Garfunkel, though. I think this image is suitable with the original sound, too.
RubyTuesday70
Thank you so much elleque! I love reading your thoughts. I think both versions are suitable, yes. But when working on this render I was feeling the more powerful vibes of the remake so that's why I decided to go with that version. Maybe one day I will make an image for the older version too.

Very dramatic. Well done!

Thank you! <3

Exceptional creation. This image looks so real and is also moving. We can "see" the awful story of black slaves here.
RubyTuesday70
Thank you so much Gaius!
I have to say it's not specifically intended to represent the issue of slavery...although of course it could. But it could also be:
It can be so, so much... the sound of silence can sometimes be deafening.

The choice of Ol' Bubba for this picture is inspired. I wish Lory was making more quirky characters like this but I'm happy for anything she creates. XD The extreme creases of age in his face so amplify the emotions and your simple lighting that creates such strong contrast between light and shadow again amplifies a sense of loneliness driving the emotions. Thank you for sharing the image and the music that inspires you to such images. <3

Oh Bubba... One of the first mature people I did, one I loved the most among them. You turned him alive!

Your new portait looks fantastic once again and I agree what dear Lory said about his elder character!
