always a treat to see what you'll do next...I love that you stylized the rain with pure verticals. Really nice touch. And that fortress is so cinematic! It's out of a pixar animation or a medieval fantasy--love it. (Love the mixed lighting too.) Then you have a pirate ship, and then a sampan (or something similar): wild combination. We wonder, where do they come from on this pouring night...and what's the sampan doing in this cove? Great mountains and sky---like you painted them there. And the sea is just enough (at bottom) to frame the piece. Meaning, by giving a sliver of it, you made it look like the foundation of the image; the border. This is beautiful, barb, and must be seen full size. It's really beautifully done. Well, I'm speaking my comments to save my back: As soon as I can sit for a while, I'll finish your bday piece--I hope very soon...but if I'm late, a happy and blessed birthday to you tomorrow (sunday)! I'm so happy you got a wedding for your first gift! That's such a wonderful way to start out the coming year...love your image, and happy birthday!!!

So beautiful!! I'm always so impressed by artists who can mix together elements like this in a way that makes everything look so natural together, esp. with regard to lighting! I love that backdrop "village" (?), and of course the pirate ships are awesome! Nice moody atmosphere, too :-)
