Description
Inspired by the SLAYER song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuIAPU6Gpaw
Time melts away in this living Inferno
Trapped by a cause that I once understood
Feeling a sickness building inside of me
Who will I really have to answer to?
March on through the rivers of red
Souls drift, they fill the air
Forced to fight, behind...
The crooked cross
Do only what is expected of me
With no emotions, my feelings suppressed
Blind obedience carries me through it all
Conscience, a word I learned to forget
March on through the rivers of red
Flesh burns, it fills the air
Forced to fight, behind...
The crooked cross
Time melts away in this living Inferno
Trapped by a cause that I once understood
Blind obedience carries me through it all
Do only what is expected of me
March on through the rivers of red
Souls drift, they fill the air
Forced to fight, behind...
The crooked cross

Though I'm not the "metal" - Type (I like it more melodic such as Pink Floyd e.g.) The song expresses probably what some of the Soldiers of the 3th Reich thought by them self. I think we can see this today again with some soldiers of the Russian Army, who where forced into this stupid war, without really realizing what's happening. ...and history repeats it self, just that this time, the "crooked cross" is not to be found in the western europe, nor in Ukraine (as the propaganda says), but probably more hidden behind the red star. The one who wants to "denazificate Ukraine" is the Nazi him self, and all he wants to do is to build his own "Reich" and expand it, suppressing people, their opinion and freedom and every one who says something against the "officials" view or just calls that slaughter by its name will be eliminated or brought into concentration camps...
Boy, does that sound familiar to me
Very impressing work of yours (as always!)

Thank you very much, FurNose! Those are exactly my thoughts about the whole story from past to now. Some people utterly lie to force their will upon others, while some people swallow those lies only too willingly. In the end monarchies, dictatorships and democracies sadly don't differ too much on this, only in their methods and brutality. It always was and I hope we'll come to break the circle of repeating history one day. Humanity has so many great facettes to show instead of its permanent ugly face. BTW, being German myself I wish a German band would have written those lines. We surely feel responsibility for our past, but sometimes we do it just in black and white. There is seemingly no space for all the shades of grey, but especially those are the important ones to learn from.

Well yes, that song would have fitted well to the genre of Rammstein. Their song "Deutschland" is kind of criticism as well, even if they just accuse Germany and don't mention that dilemma, you are mentioning with your picture and that song text. But I'm sure, they could have written such a song as well. The problem always is: Do we listen to the text and the message in it, or do we just listen to the music and find just it's "awesome"? I really hope we get a chance to learn from this actual crisis, but in contrary to the time of WWII, we face the risk, that even though Putin (Russian Military) can't really be a thread in a conventional war, he still has nukes and I suspect if he feels, that there is no way to save his face, he might lie again and tell in his Propaganda, that he has to do this, because, the western worlds only aim is to destroy and completely eliminate Russia and then use them, which would mean "doomsday" and the end of humanity at all (so no time anymore for "lessons learned" then). I'm sure if Hitler had nukes, he would have used them on Great Britain USA and Russia. I think he was that crazy in the end (formidable shown in the phantastic Movie "Der Untergang" or "The Downfall" in english)! So let's hope it will not end like that.

Rammstein would have been the perfect choice, especially as they always have pretty clever and complex lyrics. "Deutschland" is a good example, for it shows them being torn between their love and hate for Germany. To me those lyrics are very global, for every country has its good and evil to think about. But as you said, one has to listen to the lyrics, not just the music. German lyrics don't reach as many people as English lyrics, for sure. And even understanding the words doesn't necessarily mean to understand their meanings, for everyone tends to interpretate them as it fits to their own view of the world. Coming back to the politics I don't think there is a chance to cooperate with Russia under Putin, for he has undoubtedly proved he cannot be trusted. What Russia needs is a kind of self-cleaning act to remove Putin and his bootlickers and establish a parlamentary democracy. To be honest, I'd also wish that Western democracies would act as they always claim. Uncontrolled capitalism in my eyes is as oppressive and evil as any dictatorship. Coming to the last point: Actually, Hitler didn't want to build an Atomic bomb in first place, but using nuclear power more for power units. Nevertheless, I'm sure he would have used it as a weapon, too. At least for regions he didn't want to occupy. I really appreciated "Der Untergang" when I watched it at the cinema (and still do as i own the movie), for it exactly showed the shades of grey inside the people and even inside Hitler himself. Being just evil wouldn't have brought him into charge. Many people don't see that and follow people like him even today. Even in the Western world. I really hope mankind soon will learn instead of destroying itself and the whole world.

Thanks a lot, Krid! I tried several techniques in PS to have a mix of blue and orange tints for the night and the fires around, but I liked this most. :)
