Wow! o.o
First of all, thank you for the dedication! As always, thank you, too, for making me do a bit of research and learning more about an artist of whom I was not much aware: Frederic Leighton. Finally it's such a beautiful image! The soft lighting and very gently washed coloring make it feel more a painting than a rendering. The mature lady focused on her pupil and the pupil's ardent concentration on performing properly are charming! Quite by coincidence the little girl reminds me of my granddaughter as she is a dark-haired little girl of about the same age with a similar determination to get things right.
Thank you!

Beautifully staged and evocative scene, exceptionally expressive (and one major improvement over Leighton, is that its actually a guitar while in the painting it appears to be something more like a Persian setar or Turkish saz)! The vignette/border is a nice touch and gives the feel of a cell from an old film.

the choice of the guitar strongly modified the pose of the child. I found it more interesting that it almost disappears behind the body of the guitar and looks very focused to pull off. I wanted to keep the floral motifs of the clothes while making them less precious, which is what suggested this gypsy-inspired scene to me. The decor accentuates this freedom of tone. Thank you very much for all your comments Joe
