Description
Gregory and Hamlet can’t quite make out what’s on the stove, but if that’s not "facon" they smell in the frying pan, Hamlet will be hopping on the next cart out of town! Meanwhile, Buttercup and Poncho are taking this opportunity to nab their own breakfast tidbits :-)
==AMY’S NOTES==
I tried several cottages for this scene before I settled on this one, although it’s not without its problems (esp. as it’s rather old and something went kinda wonky with the trans maps on some of the flowers). I love this whole Fairytale Places set (which comes with a cottage, manor house, and mill) and have attempted to use it many times, but this is the first time it ended up in a final render — and this is the back side of the cottage! One of these days I’ll get it from the front, but further back from the camera than I did here and perhaps with a hint of DOF.
Rendered in May 2022 using Firefly in Poser Pro 11.3 for Mac at 3200 × 1800 pixels. View full size on my blog.

As always adorable scene. I love the characters and the reflection on the window.

Thank you! As you probably guessed, I replaced the default window material, which was basically just transparent with a bit of specular. I like being able to see Gregory's eye in the window reflection!

LOL ... to funny. It turns out we have a single mischievous squirrel that is pulling up every recently planted bulb. Grrrrrrr, my wife says. I suggested a pellet gun and she hit me in the arm !!!!!!!

I like this cute scene its so smart and funny. Great job on this scene, breakfast kinda sounds pretty good about now.
perpetualrevision
Thanks! I won't tell Hamlet if you had actual bacon for breakfast, as long as you don't tell him I did either :-)

I bet hamlet is hoping that the people inside are vegetarians! This is so cute!
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! I suppose Hamlet and Buttercup should both be hoping they live on a farm with vegetarians!

The scene is very funny. I have seen footage of dogs, cats and children performing in similar scenes :)
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! I haven't seen photos of see dogs, cats, and children stacking up at windows to peek inside, but I can definitely imagine it!

Charming scene! Reminds me of the Bremen Town Musicians for some reason.
perpetualrevision
Thanks so much for the comment! The name "Bremen Town Musicians" didn't ring a bell, but when I looked it up, I realized I have heard variations on the folk tail, most recently as part of Andrew Lang's collection of fairy tales (collected in the early 1900's). The wikipedia page shows a statue of the animals standing on top of each other!

A very fine image and very cute presentation! If it isn't 'facon' cooking, what could it be......oops! My bad! Shoulda thought before I spoke! LOL! Just kidding! Excellent creation my dear friend! Many fine kudos from me!
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! If it isn't "facon" they're frying up, Hamlet is sincerely hoping it's something along the lines of carrots spiced with flavorings that resemble bacon, the way they do at a vegan restaurant in Denver. I'm not vegan, but City O'City has some pretty amazing "faux meat" dishes!
donnena
super cute!!!
MajinBoo
Too cute. It has a classic cartoon vibe with the animals and setting. Unless this household is vegan, I think Hamlet might want to back away from the window.
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! At least with a cow and goat, they might be around to provide milk (except that Gregory is male!), and a donkey always has uses other than becoming food, but poor Hamlet should definitely make sure to endear himself to the household as a pet, so that he doesn't become a meal!

I love the idea of this and I have to say I can't think of much that would make it more fun to look at. Thank you for sharing it!
