Description

Non-Player Character Vyktoria “Tori” Croft The Lady Viper of Deavere Female Granbretan: Noble/Scientist (Viper order)/Craftsman (Electrical Engineer) 5’9” 126 lbs (light + 1 D10 lbs (+6 lbs)), age 25 Raised in Deavere at the foot of the great Silver Bridge, away from the gloom and bedlam of Londra, Vyktoria spent her life watching a steady stream of Granbretan’s armies march across on their conquest of Europe then return with slaves and tribute without ever giving a second thought to those being conquered. As a daughter of a minor noble house, she enjoyed the freedom to pursue her own scientific interests rather than being subject to the Viper order’s Grand Constable‘s wishes, much to her chagrin. Highly skilled in both electrical design and engineering, she kept many of her most remarkable advances and breakthroughs to herself rather than sharing them with the rest of her order and the Dark Empire. Attempting to create a gateway that would instantaneously teleport matter from one place to another allowing Granbretan’s troops to reach every corner of the world, she was accidently drawn through an interdimensional portal to the Young Kingdoms’ plane arriving in Cadsandria of Argimiliar. However, her limited ability to speak and understand the native Common Tongue led to a great deal of frustration for all, until she was taken to the University where linguists and experts in interdimensional theory determined that she came from a different plane of existence. Amongst those experts was the visiting, renegade Dragon Lord, Daeron Syn, who found the parallels between the history of his own people’s Bright Empire and the Dark Empire of Granbretan she spoke of intriguing. Brilliant, creative, and clever, but somewhat cold and aloof, Vyktoria is also sly and seductively charming but decidedly amoral, having little empathy for what she perceives as “lesser men”, including the humans population of the Young Kingdoms, although her fascination with sorcery led to viewing sorcerers with respect. Additionally, she tends to exaggerate “s” sounds in her speech, as well as mutter and curse in the Viper order’s language when angry or aggravated. Like all Granbretans, she suffers from a recurring neurosis, occasionally experiencing bipolar bouts which have her swinging from manic highs to depressive lows. These episodes can be brought on by any form of traumatic event or personal set-back (see Infliction below). However, now removed from the madness inducing culture of the Dark Empire, she’s slowly becoming more emotionally stable. A truly remarkable beauty, Vyktoria has pale alabaster skin, sparkling jet-black eyes and a wild short-cropped ink-black mane, but in typical Granbretan fashion only a very few people have seen her without her stylized gilded mask. Although a member of the Viper order, as a noblewoman she’s afforded the privilege of wearing a mask of her own design. Slender, but fit, her figure is amply graced by both ripe feminine charms and subtle muscles. Vyktoria wields a force-blade longsword (attack 94% (+33% bonus)/parry 92% (+21% bonus), 2-hand, or attack 95% (+33% bonus)/parry 96% (+21% bonus), right, or attack 47% (+33% bonus)/parry 46% (+21% bonus), left, damage 4 D10+1 (+1 D6 bonus), POW 25), one of the inventions she didn’t share with her order or the Empire as mass producing it wouldn’t be practical. When inactive, it’s a foot long golden tubular device, but when activated a slender three-and-a-half-foot blade of glowing blue force springs from one end. While the force-blade is actually weightless, its magnet field creates enough inertia that it still requires half the strength to wield as a normal longsword (STR 6). However, the blade is actually hundreds of microscopically thin planes of force, making it imminently sharper than any metal and completely unbreakable. She also bares a critical quality dagger (attack 86% (+33% bonus)/parry 89% (+21% bonus), left, or attack 91% (+33% bonus)/parry 84% (+21% bonus), right, damage 1 D4+1 D6+2 (+1 D6 bonus), melee, or attack 71% (+33% bonus), left, or attack 86% (+33% bonus), right, damage 1 D4+1 D6+2 (+1 D4 bonus), range 50’, thrown) and while the soft black leather tunic, pants, boots and gloves she wears don’t provide any armor value, her aura shield does. This gold and blue-crystal amulet projects a field of semi-transparent shimmering blue force (POW (25) points of armor vs POW x 10 (250) points of damage/day, SIZ 12, POW 25) which surrounds her, but can only repel a limited amount of damage each day before collapsing. She has a belt pouch of small, critical quality advanced technological electronics tools (+10% to repair/devise related to electrical devices) and a backpack of critical quality advanced technology mechanical tools (+10% to pick locks & repair devise related to mechanical devices). Amongst the other advanced technological items she was carrying when she arrived in the Young Kingdoms are a cellular regenerator, a disk like devices worn on the palm that causes rapid healing (closes open wounds in 1 round, heals 1 D6 hit points in 1 D6 rounds, range = touch, 5 uses/day, POW 20), a plasma torch, a six-inch by one-inch cylinder that emits a focus flame (1 D6+2 + 1/round fire damage/round (maximum = POW (25)), range = touch, POW x 2 rounds/day (50 rounds/day), POW 25), a magnetic field manipulator, a four-inch long, four-inch wide, two-inch thick triangle worn on the back of the hand that lifts and moves objects (lift or throw (attack POW x 1% (20%) (+33% bonus), damage as per weapon or 1 D4/2 SIZ, maximum SIZ = POW/2 (10), range = POW x 2’ (40’), 1 round = 1 use), push (SIZ = POW (20), range = POW x 2’ (40’), move at POW x 4’/round (80’), 1 round = 1 use), or slam (attack POW x 5% (100%), 2 D10 damage, range = POW x 2’ (40’), 1 attack = 1 use), POW/2 (10) uses/day, POW 20) and a pair of amplification goggles which are designed to be worn over her mask and increases her visual abilities (magnify x POW x 20 times (x 500 times) range = POW/5’ (5’)), visual range = POW x 8% (200%), POW x 4% (100%) to protect from bright lights, increase light POW x 8% (200%) range = POW x 4 yards (100 yards)), +POW x 1% (+25%) to pick lock, repair/devise, search & see, POW 25). Although she doesn’t have access to them any longer, she is skilled in the use of a crossbow (attack 59% (+33% bonus), damage 3 D6 (+1 D4 bonus), range 325’, 1 shot/3 rounds), as well as owning both a lavish villa with a sophisticated private laboratory (87,000s (435,000LB)) in Deavere and a small ornithopter (10,000s (50,000LB)), but since the common currency of the Tragic Millennium Earth is silver coins which are the equivalent of the Young Kingdoms’ small silvers, she does have 8,900s (44,500LB) in coins and gems. Thanks for your kind comment and interest! Although an offshoot of Stormbringer, which is a Fantasy role-playing game... Hawkmoon is a combination of Fantasy and Sci-Fi. I used RubiconDigital's Photon Weapons for the "force-blade longsword" and the "sphere" effect from DM's Legends as her "aura shield".

This is really fantastic! She definitely looks to be someone you don't want to upset. Excellent work!

Thanks again for all your kind comments and interest! I spent months trying to find or make a "viper" mask but failed... so I settled on this one. Moorcock created a great, sophisticated and complicated culture for Granbretan, but it's darn hard to duplicate the masks he described.

Looks like an interested character. And I love the effects you used to make her.

Thanks again for all your kind comments and interest! I tried a verity of effects for her aura shield, including trying to duplicate the effect of the "shields" from Dune, but none of them looked right.
