I'm only here every few days, so I post when I can. This old, old image was oversaturated (as I didn't pay attention to the camera): I corrected it in PS, but it's mostly as is...
It's "my lake"---ie, beautiful Lake Michigan. And I found this beautiful family from the Carribean just prancing around and playing. Suddenly the child on the left ran into my shot, and I shot. Loved that blue shirt, red shorts and that great beautiful hair...(it's much fuller, full size)
Just spreading some pre summer joy! (See, it's 90 degrees in chicago---32.22C for all non-americans: You wanna know the Midwest??? We had 43 degrees last week---ie, winter---then overnight, it turned 90! NO warning, NO transition: Summer just kicks down the door, says fuggeddabbouddit, and it's sweltering! But it's wonderful. This image is from years ago, but you see scenes like this all the time on our lake. (The lake is just behind the trees. It says hello...)

Mark, you captured the essence of what life in the park is so well. It doesn't matter what year it was taken as its mostly like this in so many parts of the country. I live in San Diego, California and its mostly sunny year round for us here, if we want colder weather we often have to drive up into the mountains during the winter season to get it. I personally like this image with all it wonderful vivid colors and all the activity that the individuals in your image provide. Excellent shot my friend! :-)

a great capture in the park my friend. looks like before our covid era.
so far temps here are ok, but soon will rise. our problem is lack of moisture. one reason for many grass fires lately and evacuations.

Unrestrained joy in just living. That's what you've captured here, Mark - in such bright and cheerful colors. And that joy is something increasingly rare in this troubled world of late. You have given us a glimpse of what it used to be - and what it could still be, hopefully.
Same here with the weird temps.. One day it's winter, the next day is like July. The Midwest is a weather weird zone.
Hope you're doing well, buddy. I'm still fighting this depression, but making progress - slowly.
