Description
For Lynn's birthday (ShadowsNTime):
Kokopelli is one of the great gods of Native America...
he dances and plays his flute, and brings life wherever he goes. You'll find him in the great Southwestern Native Nations: in their art, carvings, clothing, everything...although today, you'll find him everywhere...
Lynn comes from Native American stock, and that weaves through everything she's done and is. Everyone who's known her knows the deep sweetness that runs through her veins ("like a buffalo," as a Kiowa friend used to say!), along with her devotion to make this a better world, and her love for all who've crossed her path. She came to RR in 2005, and those of us who've known her in that time know her immense heart and sterling depths.
If you look at her gallery---back to the beginning---you'll see all kinds of celebration-art, with a deep love of life, and a matching Native American heart. All done through the waves and upheavals of this crazy life.
I'll mention, once again, her incredibly honest and deep memoirs, a series is called "Life Thru Different Eyes": It begins here. (My comments are spare there, only because I read them prior, so I'd already commented one-on-one.) Lynn's honesty, sensitivity and power is most uncommon; so I give you the link if you wish to see it. It's a series of 8...
So Lynn: A Blessed Birthday to you!
For those who don't know, Mitakuye Oyasin is a Lakota prayer meaning All Our Relations: It gathers all humans in one place, to remind us that we share the world. Lynn, I am deeply grateful for everything you've shared, and I pray that the spirits are honoring your deep and glowing heart always. You probably know the ancient prayers that end many Navajo ceremonies (often spoken by the elders); I'll quote a little here; this is sooooo typically Navajo: "...with beauty before me, may I walk...with beauty behind me, may I walk...in old age wandering on a trail of beauty---living always---may I walk...and my words will be beautiful..." Your words and soul are beautiful, Lynn; always have been, always will be...happy Birthday and many more, with love, peace, and as much light as the universe will allow...as the Navajos say, "walk in beauty, my child..." (a child of the universe)...love, Mark ------------------

This is a wonderful tribute and birthday gift for her (Happy Birthday, Lynn!), and also a beautiful tribute to Native Americans and their art and traditions.
Kokopelli and his life-force are certainly needed in this insane world - especially the last few years. It's just out of control.
Again, a wonderful trio of works, Mark! Your love, caring, and talent shines through for Lynn, and for all of us. Thank you!
I'll definitely be checking her gallery out.

You combined the darkness and the bright colors in these. Hopeful, powerful, magical, and a life worth celebrating. The perfect dedication for a birthday. Your words are beautiful, too.

Mitakuye Oyasin Wow, what a wonderful tribute you have given me, not sure I deserve all that but it touches my heart, especially as most do not recognize me as native...These images are wonderful, colors beautiful and each one feels very native, not just because of Kokopelli...it feels like he has just come to join the party and brings love, hope joy and peace as a gift to all. Thank you so much Mark, my puter isn't working well and have connection problems but I am so very happy that I got to see these! My fav of these 3 is the bottom one, feels like the desert home for native people (southwest)
