That looks about right, esp. if the horse just got a bath! But ew whatever he's rolling in looks pretty gross, and those giant flies still freak me out! My horse heads to the next county whenever one of those big horse flies shows up. I can't imagine how she'd react to a swarm of giant flies! The horse's owner looks suitably horrified :-) The mushrooms really add to the feeling of dirty damp grossness!

It's impossible to depict some of the stuff I've seen developing in manure piles. Most horse people are familiar with this horrifying scene, which, as you stated, usually occurs immediately after a bath (if not in a manure pile in a pasture, then in a stall)!
This is why the best colour for horses is manure-coloured (my horse was fleabitten grey).
