Cat Stevens avait fait une superbe chanson...quand il est devenu Yusuf, il a disparu. Très belle image.

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last comments...it's been 5 weeks. I thought I had commented sooner, Ute, I've just lost track of time. But I see that it's been 5 weeks. You can at least feel good that I spend more time in your gallery than I do in all but a few. And I adore your work, and I always have.
Also, your tributes to Ukraine and to the victims of Uvalde have all been very moving. Your gallery constantly records the tragedies of the human race...you never forget. And I'm grateful for that.
This image was posted on the same day as one of your memorials, and honestly I thought it was a tribute to the lost souls of Uvalde. But of course it's about a famous song. (D'Arbanville was in NYCity---with the Andy Warhol group---even though Stevens sung of her as if she'd died. His love for her must have been very deep to write that song.)
You handled the faded woman perfectly: She has total presence, but she's also a ghost. And she wears a 19th Century gown---a way of expressing nostalgia. And the color of her gown reflects earthiness (it's an earthy hue), and it works well with your image, because your image has many dark earthen tones, especially reds and reddish browns.
Finally, she stands in a traditional wood-paneled living room, which suits her 19th Century look (although the couch and chair are pretty modern). And because she's so earthen, she has the appearance of an earth goddess. A beautiful blend of the tea set and flowers with the folds of her gown...with sensuous fruit in the background. ("Cezanne" apples---they have Cezanne colors.) Very evocative and haunting, Ute, and very romantic.
