Description
I decided to make a tribute to the first installment of the BBC/Apple TV docuseries- Prehistoric Planet, narrated by the legend that is David Attenborough. This is a five part series which was shown over five consecutive evenings on Apple TV. The first episode- Coasts- features a swimming T-rex male who takes his chicks over to a small island for some nibbles. If any of you have seen the videos of anything from elephants to donkeys swimming in the open ocean you will appreciate the science behind this piece of speculation. Even the Emu- which are one of T-rex's closest living relatives has been known to swim out to islands as well.
Getting the split water/air effect was not easy and involved multiple render drawings in DAZ studio before I was satisfied with the result. I utilised Sickleyield's rigged water props, which was the only way to get the split screen effect.
Herschell Hoffmeyer's T-rex models- 2 and 3 come into play as Daddy rex and rexy chicks. Ammonites etch by Oso.

Nobody swims with dinosaurs. You swim away from dinosaurs!
Great render.

Daunting task indeed! This is probably the most realistic split water/air effect I've seen.....excellent results! I've tried this numerous times before, never came this close....

Thank you all, yes it was a daunting task and took many experiments with different kinds of water and ocean prop to finally arrive at something I was pleased with.
