Description

Well maybe 1969. Details, details. All I can recall is that it was a Petri range-finder camera and probably ASA 400 film which was about the best I could afford then. I took this shot and quite a few others then retreated to the photo hobby shop at Negishi Heights to see what I got. During the processing, I over exposed the print just a tad and noted the shimmer effect on the water.

Brainstorm: Let's enhance that.

Lots of hand dodging later this resulted. It suggests an evening shot, but the cloud lighting is reversed (i.e., a real evening shot would have the undersides illuminated). Details, details. The reason for the shot in the first place was the huge differences in size of the three ships. The one on the left is Khabarovsk registered in Vladivostok, the tug had no name or number I can recall, and the one on the right is the Esmerelda. Details, details. This imagehas been mounted for quite a few years, and it got a bit dirty.

I scanned the image and used PP9 to remove some dust specs and a bit of the dirt. Makes nice wallpaper for my random wallpaper program. Hope you enjoyed it, and a Happy New Year to all!
