Awwww So beautiful!!!!!! Love her expression looking at the seahorse :-)
perpetualrevision
Thanks! The seahorse's eyes don't move, and that flummoxed me for a moment, until it occurred to me that I could just move its head so that its eyes would be looking down at her :-) The seahorse is an ancient figure, but it holds up pretty well! Kiki's pretty ancient too, but LittleDesign has breathed so much new life into her!
Flint_Hawk
Your MerFae is definitely as cute as a button! I love how she has made eye contact with the seahorse! Your details are amazing & perfectly match the background!

Thanks for the comment! The seahorse's eyes don't move, and that flummoxed me for a moment, until it occurred to me that I could just move its head so that its eyes would be looking down at her! I think with this one I got the lighting to show a bit more blue than in the portrait of the fairy fish, but I'm going to resist the temptation to re-render that one :-)
Gisela
Awww Amy she is so cute. Wonderful.

Thanks so much! Part of what led me to get the Button character from LittleDesign is that she comes with some different colored skin tones beyond the basic "Caucasian skin" (blue, white, pink, green, maybe one more). So that increases her versatility quite a bit! I used the white skin here, which seemed appropriate for an undersea dweller :-)
poser4me
Very convincing and cute. Very well done.
perpetualrevision
Thanks! It was surprisingly easy to fit K4 apparel to Kiki, and that opens up a lot of new possibilities!
mazzam
Awfully cute creature and image.

madame
It’s absolutely adorable, beautiful underwater atmosphere and great render !!
perpetualrevision
Thank you! I can't take all the credit for the underwater atmosphere, as a lot comes from the background image, but I'm finding these underwater images a lot of fun to work with!
miwi
Very sweet scene, like it a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
perpetualrevision
Thank you so much :-) Kiki makes a pretty sweet little MerFae!
uncollared
She looks very inquisitive. Super cute image
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! Let's hope she's taking the seahorse's wisdom to heart. (I suppose we better also hope the seahorse is actually wise!)
romangirl
Cute as a button!
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! You can see where the character got its name :-)
gerberc
Really cute but there's something in her face that suggests she could be cheeky, too. Superb image!
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! Hmm, a cheeky Button! The character comes with a few other interesting skin colors, so maybe I'll make one of them into a cheeky little imp :-)
OmniFX
Another lovely scene. You really do the underwater renders very well!
perpetualrevision
Thanks so much! But I can't take all the credit for these, as I'm using underwater backgrounds by Sveva that really help to set the environment. I just add lighting and a few foreground props plus a character or two!
donnena
Super cute, Amy!!! totally adorable!
perpetualrevision
Thanks! Who knew I'd get so much use out of a figure as ancient as Kiki? (and I have half a dozen more renders of her "in the queue"!) The credit really goes to Steffi of LittleDesign for making such adorable characters for her :-)
jmattatall
Very sweet!

Oh how I like and love this creation! It is so cute.
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! Kiki certainly makes a cute mermaid, esp. with a character like Button!

As previously noted, the eye contact is a successful posing decision that really makes it a charming composition. You continue to do such nice work with the sharp foreground fading into a background very effectively. Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed viewing, Amy.

Thanks so much for the comments, Molly! I'm learning a lot about how to use background images as I go along, and with this one I was glad I could bring in some foreground props that are similar to what appeared in the background. Some of the kelp was in the background image but fairly sharp, and of course the fish were blurred with DOF, so I had to mask out the parts where the kelp was so that it would seem like the fish were behind it! I do wish I'd adjusted the color of the foreground kelp a bit more to match the less saturated, slightly more blueish tint of the kelp in the background image. But overall I'm pleased with how this one came out!

Button's got a new friend !!!!!!

aww, that is a cute image.. nice work!
