Kiki Kitty says "meow grr"!

Setting up the character and pose, selecting and testing materials, and adjusting the lighting took about an hour and a half. Figuring out what else should be in the scene took all freaking day!! I don’t know why I struggle so much with coming up with backdrops for portraits like this. I tried dozens of prop sets and about that many background images, and nothing looked right, until I tried this fairly simple solution. I look forward to the day when the fairly simple solution is one of the first things to pop into my head, not one of the last!
Working on this prompted me to go in search of more toon-appropriate background images, and guess what? I didn’t find any!

I can't find the kitty outfit that Steffi uses with this character, but the LLF version of a kitty outfit with Steffi's fuzzy textures works pretty well! Thanks for the comment :-)

Thank you! I just love these characters from LittleDesign. I can't make them look as good as Steffi does in her promos, but I'm just delighted to have the characters to play with. I had no idea I'd get so much use out of a toon child figure! :-)

Thanks so much for the comment! Being retired sure has its perks :-) I go through spells where I do a bunch of renders and spells where I do none, so I try to space out how often I post the ones I've got. I'm aiming for every other day, but sometimes the backlog gets too big!

Thanks so much! I love the idea of this simple backdrop, I just wish I would've arrived at it sooner. I have a huge collection of props, including a bunch I've never loaded, so at least when I go through the search for a prop set as a backdrop, I get the chance to try out some things I've never used, even if they don't work out for the current scene! The good news is that I may have already purchased everything I want from the other store's "8 items for $2.99" sales, so hopefully my prop collection won't grow too much larger, unless it's something nifty I buy here :-)
