There, they headed to the stewardship of the Guild of Adventurers. Delphine, who demanded to speak to the Commanding Master of the stewardship, eagerly explained the reason of their presence. The master was a warrior and not a mage, but he took the concerns of Delphine very seriously, the words of a magician had always to be trusted, even more because he could feel himself the powerful dark energy coming from the "Egg". He accepted the responsability of taking the "Egg of Gornhoth" and he assured them that it would be taken care of the problem in no delay. Released of their burden and relieved to know it was under the hands of competent people, they suddenly all felt the weight of exhaustion falling on them. To lose the goblins pursuing them, they had run almost constantly for days, with very little rest and sleep. Even when they had been basically sure they were not followed anymore, they did not slow down their pace, because it was fundamental they reached the city as soon as possible. Though, the malefic aura of the "Egg" did not seem to have increased since they had left the cave, which made Delphine hoped that by simply leaving the cave the releasing processus of the Demon Lord had stopped. They all needed a serious rest, but Minalva realised that the barony they were in was close to what she called "her forest". Asking to her companions if they could hold few more days before resting, she proposed to lead them to her place. Seeing how she was eager to go there, they accepted to follow her and meet her clan. Although they stayed one night in Urkmarch. The inn was cheap, but there, they had at the least the occasion to have a good meal, to wash and have real beds. Even if the beds themselves were not really comfortable, they all slept like babies. Except Minalva who was too excited by the idea to meet again with her family and friends. The forest was very dense, and her "village", if it was possible to call it that way, was deep in it. But because Minalva knew the woods and all the secret paths by heart, the journey was pretty easy and they proceed rapidly. " This way ! Just few more days of walking and we will be in my clan." said Minalva happily, while leading her friends. _______________________________________________________________________ Plusieurs jours après avoir trouvé "l'Œuf de Gornhoth", ils arrivèrent dans la petite baronnie de Urkmarch, au sud-est de là où ils avaient trouvé "l'Œuf". Là, ils se dirigèrent vers l'intendance de la Guilde des Aventuriers. Delphine, qui demanda à parler avec le Maître Commandant de l'intendance, expliqua avec empressement la raison de leur présence. Le maître était un guerrier et non un mage, mais il prit très au sérieux les inquiétudes de Delphine, les paroles d'un magicien devait toujours être crues, d'autant qu'il pouvait lui-même sentir la puissante énergie ténébreuse venant de "l'Œuf". Il accepta la responsabilité de prendre "l'Œuf de Gornhoth" et il leur assura que le problème serait pris en charge sans délai. Débarrassé de leur fardeau et soulagé de savoir qu'il était entre les mains de gens compétents, ils sentirent tous le poids de l'épuisement tomber sur eux. Ils avaient couru presque constamment pendant des jours, ne se reposant et ne dormant que très peu, pour échapper aux Gobelins qui le poursuivaient. Même quand ils furent basiquement sûr qu'ils n'étaient plus suivis, ils ne ralentirent pas leur allure, car il était fondamental qu'ils atteignent la ville le plus vite possible. Cependant, l'aura maléfique de "l'Œuf" n'avait pas augmenté depuis qu'ils avaient quitté la grotte, ce qui faisait espérer à Delphine que le processus de libération du Seigneur Démon avait été stoppé rien qu'en quittant la caverne. Ils avaient tous besoin d'un sérieux repos, mais Minalva réalisa que la baronnie était proche de ce qu'elle appelait "sa forêt". Demandant à ses compagnons s'ils pouvaient attendre encore un peu avant de se reposer, elle proposa de les conduire jusque chez elle. Voyant à quel point elle était désireuse d'aller là-bas, ils acceptèrent de la suivre et de rencontrer son clan. Cependant, ils restèrent une nuit à Urkmarch. L'auberge n'était pas chère, mais ils eurent au moins l'occasion d'avoir un bon repas, de se laver et d'avoir de vrais lits. Même si ces derniers n'étaient pas très confortables, ils dormirent tous comme des bébés. Sauf Minalva, qui était trop excitée à l'idée de revoir sa famille et ses amis. La forêt était dense et son "village", s'il était possible d'appeler ça comme ça, était loin dans ces profondeurs. Mais car Minalva connaissait les bois par cœur ainsi que tous ces sentiers secrets, le voyage fut plutôt facile et ils avancèrent rapidement. " Par ici ! Encore quelques jours de marche et nous serons dans mon clan." dit joyeusement Minalva alors qu'elle guidait ses amis. _______________________________________________________________________ It was a little expensive, but I haven't been able to resist longer to buy the "Ultra Scenery XT" product from DAZ. It will take time to masterise the it, but it's so great to able to build and render landscapes like this directly in DS. It was a test picture, but I have decide to have it belong to the canon, set in the first story arc, when Minalva is leading her companions to her clan for the first time. I had to copy and to past some of the text from the next picture on this one to make it chronologically work. ^^
