Description
Yesterday I bought Mr Waddleston from Daz. He was on sale for $11.98 Today he's back up to $24 bucks.
It's a character made for D/S and not Poser. After converting it for Poser use, there were issues.
Half the body parts could not be visible. This was a cr2 issue with incorrect body part labeling and missing code.
Being somewhat of a Poser expert i was able to solve all problems except for the mouth.
There is still a major issue with the mouth. A part called Lower Jaw
is not part of the exported obj and cannot be added. This may be as good as I can get it.
Magnets may be needed to get results. I'll see what I can do.
I did a few panels of Parrot Trek probably before 2010. It featured Patch the parrot.
He appears again with the new character.
Thanks for the comments in Squirrel Trek.
There is a second part maybe next week.
Hope you get a chuckle out of this one too.
How's this for original ? :)

I've had mixed results with bringing figures out of DS (via FBX) for use in Poser, but for the most part it works OK with more toony types of characters. The problem you describe with the mouth sure sounds vexing! I do wish the FBX method would retain body and head morphs, so that I'd get the original figure's shaping and expression dials. Oddly, if I export in DAE format and open the file in my modeler (Cheetah3D for Mac), the body and head morphs are there. But when I bring the DAE into Poser, nothing loads.
Anyway, these guys look great and are very expressive! Sir Waddleston is pretty cute, and I'm glad you were able to get him on sale! Hopefully he'll add to the range of characters you can use for more "Parrot Trek" :-)

Thanks for the kind words. I will keep poking around and trying different things but I am not sure Waddleston will be as expressive as the D/S version. The rest of the him will do exactly what the D/S does.

Great job and another fine addition to repertoire of very nice characters in your collection Den! I specially like the ears on Spock! :-)
enigma-man
The ears belong to the Siobahn. I couldn't find any elf ears so I exported her head as an obj and removed the head and face, leaving the ears. Then the ears were broken down to left and right. The ears are now props fitted to the parrot's head.

Wonderful scene and posing!

Thanks for the fun!!!!! I have looked at that figure but no way I would tackle trying to get it into poser. Great job!
enigma-man
Getting it into Poser requires knowing how cr2 files work and a lot of editing in a text editor or CR2Edit.

This is insane. lol. Squirrels and parrots in Trek scenes ? Too much. lol

This is great! I love what you've done with this...
You might want to check out WP_Guru (Jay Versluis) on YT. He does all kinds of crazy stuff with DAZ / Blender, etc. He's also a member here.

I wish I had your skill at importing DAZ content for Poser!
As for the images, they're hilarious. Red shirt life span jokes are still good as far as teh Mollz is concerned. Part of what sells this is the Spock ears (interesting how you made those) and Spock's expression. Thanks for giving teh Mollz a good laugh, my dear!
