Description
Kiki and her pal Pocket enjoy frolicking in their fuzzy costumes!
==AMY’S NOTES==
I recently got Pocket on deep discount (along with Pufflet and Pudgy, for about $3.50 each!), and it wasn’t too much trouble to get them out of DS and into Poser via FBX format, but I forgot about the fact the dforce hair wouldn’t transfer, and a horse looks kind of odd without a mane and tail. I’d eventually like to try making those for Pocket in Poser’s Hair Room, but until then I thought it might be fun to play with the costume that comes with Pocket.
I also recently got Tipol’s adorable overalls dynamic outfit for LF, and I wanted to see what it would take to use it on other figures, so I started with Kiki b/c I thought she’d make a cute companion to Pocket and I wanted to see the overalls with one of LittleDesign’s nifty fuzzy materials.
Rendered in June 2022 using Firefly in Poser Pro 11.3 for Mac at 2400 × 3000 pixels. Postwork in ON1 Effects 2020. View full size on my blog.

Very fuzzy indeed. :)

Aww It's just adorable. I like that lil ponny.

Thanks! I first became aware of Pufflet the bunny by the hypertaf (b/c Steffi uses it in some of her promos) and I got curious about what it would take to get it into Poser. Then I saw Pudgy the Corgi by the same vendor in some of poser4me's renders. So they both went on my wishlist. And when I saw that they were on ridiculous sale one day, I checked out what else the vendor had and saw Pocket the miniature horse, which I just knew I had to have! Pocket's costume was the best match for Kiki's for this image, but I look forward to using the other two soon!

Joy, we can use more joy. Adorable characters.

Thanks! I do have a thing for doing happy scenes :-)

Nice work and so adorable.

Thanks for the comment! I chose Pocket b/c his costume was the easiest to make fuzzy like Kiki's overalls, but I do look forward to using Pudgy and Pufflet soon! Pufflet's snail costume is hilarious.

Too cute.

Great job getting it into Poser, too bad about the Mane and tail. Very cute!

Thanks! I'm just pleased that I could get the miniature horse figure, its costume, and its stuffed toy horse into Poser without no problems, so I don't mind so much about the mane and tail. If Poser's Hair Room doesn't produce results I like, I might just try borrowing a mane and tail from another horse (or possibly even making one myself). Or heck, I suppose I could paint them in with mane and tail brushes for Photoshop! So I have plenty of options :-)
I did manage to get Pudgy the Corgi's dforce whiskers out of DS and into Poser as an OBJ, but those don't need to be posed the way a mane and tail would be, and I have no idea if it's possible to rig dforce hair (or use it in the Cloth Room??)

very precious as always with your lovable style.

Thanks so much for the comment :-) I'm really enjoying doing cute scenes right now, but I have tons of other kinds of content I want to get to eventually, in genres like sci-fi, urban fantasy, steampunk, and more. I just have to resist the call of cuteness to get to the other stuff :-)

Adorable and very creative scene! Would make a great print or poster!

Thanks so much! I'm so glad I was able to get the horse to convey joy :-)

So fun!!!!!! Love Kiki's expression!

Thanks for the comment! Kiki's expression reveals her weird toony teeth, but I went for it anyway! These overalls aren't what Steffi used in some of her promos, but they're close enough to show off her amazing fuzzy materials. (Granted, I had to try a few dozen before I found the right one, and some of them have weird material settings.)

I love Pocket too! And Kiki is a perfect companion! You have done an amazing job on this!

Thanks so much for the comment! How would you go about coming up with a mane and tail for Pocket? I'm thinking of trying to grow a short (Fjord style) mane in the Hair Room, but for the tail, I'm wondering if painting one in with a mane and tail brush would be the easiest route. I could try making one in the Hair Room but it would be hard to pose. I suppose I could try the HW Horse's tail, scaled down, though that might be a bit "fancy" for a mini!

Cute image! Nice expression on the girl. Really well done! Cute costume on the pony!

Thanks for the comment! Of the three hypertaf figures I got, Pocket's costume looks the most comfy, and it was also the easiest to make fuzzy like Kiki's overalls. Pufflet the bunny comes with a snail costume, and Pudgy the Corgi comes with a sheep costume! All three come with little stuffed toys, which is just too cute.

Just outstanding brilliant awesome composition and render. Delightful scene.
Magnificent Masterpiece of Finest Arts. I love it!

Using FBX import to get things into Poser is something I might try doing... I certainly love how this came out but the dForce hair thing is a nudge. >.<
The interaction of characters is always an important component that adds greatly to the enjoyment of a picture for me and this one is loaded with that! =)

I've gotten things out of DS for use in Poser several ways: OBJ, FBX, CR2, and sometimes DAE. DAE would be my preference for figures b/c that format retains all the body shaping and expression morphs, but for some reason when I import the DAE into Poser nothing loads. But if I open it with my modeling app (Cheetah3D for Mac), everything's there and functional, including all the morphs. I still need to work out why Poser's not loading the file.
I usually export hair and clothes I intend to convert to Poser figures in CR2 format, which generates an external OBJ and will put the textures in your Poser runtime, if needed. (I always install all textures into my Poser runtime, which DS has access to, so they're already there.) Simple props are easy to do in OBJ format, and for more complex prop sets, FBX is usually easier b/c it'll get all the separate parts in one go, although you have to figure out all the export options. Thankfully DS has presets for "Poser scale," which is helpful.
I did manage to get the dForce whiskers for Pudgy (made by the same vendor as Pocket the mini horse) out of DS and into Poser in OBJ format, and they work just fine, but whiskers can be static, whereas a mane and tail would need to be posed. I have no idea if you can run a Poser Cloth Room simulation on dForce hair, but next time I feel like experimenting I might try it with Pocket's mane and tail!
And thanks so much for the comment about the character interaction! I wanted to show that even though Pocket didn't come in with expression morphs, he's still capable of showing some emotion!
