The arrival of the dragons happens every 25 years on the exact date and time. This has been going on for many centuries. After the first arrival of the dragons, initially the villages residents were scared out of their wits. But very soon, they were calmed by the dragons presence. Not only did the dragons promise to protect the villages, since there were very many villages throughout the world that received these visitations, but the dragons also provided education, health improvements and gradual improvements in technologies for these villages. So it is no small wonder the villages eagerly welcomed the dragons every twenty five years. There was no reluctance to provide the dragons with their tribute of 25 virgins. The young ladies almost fought each other for the right to be one of the 25. What the dragons didn't tell the villagers was that their race was dying out on their home planet and they needed the genetic diversity of the young ladies to inject new vitality to their race. They had search their area of the galaxy far and wide before they found a species that was compatible with their own. It has been almost 2,000 years since this program was initiated on their home world and the benefits are starting to manifest in a more diverse and robust population developing there. The plan is to continue to program for another few hundred years before ending it for by that time, the necessary genetic improvements will be sufficient to sustain them. That is, until their future generations forget the lessons learned from this program. But enough of the history of this 25 year event. Back to this current one in the village below. The 'dragons' descend from their inter-stellar space craft cloaked in the clouds floating above each village. The 5 handsome young 'dragons' males assume their disguises as dragons and descend onto the village below, much to the adoration and joy generated by the large crowds that show up for the event. Once the young ladies have been placed in front of the dragons, the disguised dragons use a very clever visual effect with shimmering lights and other optics and change into the very handsome princely young males that they really are. The crowds always go crazy over this magical transformation and break out into loud cheering a euphoric joy. When the crowd settles down enough, loud music is piped down to the stage below hosting the 'dragons and their new brides. Why two ladies for each young 'prince' you might ask? Well, they like to cut down on the odds of failure in case one or the other lady might prove to be infertile. Also, there is the old adage, 'there is strength in numbers' if I might take liberties and bring it into this story. LOL. At any rate, as the music progresses into is various movements, the ladies and princes begin to dance on the platform. Once they finish the first rather long and courtly dance, the mood is lightened and more lively tunes are produced that blend well with any current musical styles the villagers are familiar with. Announcements from the ship above encourage the gathered populations to join the ladies and princes in dancing and celebrating. Many varieties of foods and drinks are then beamed down on gaily decorated tables from the ship above and everyone joins in the festivities. This joyous occasion goes on late into the night until at the stroke of midnight, a loud gong sounds from above. Everyone knows the meaning of this sound. The princes and their beautiful brides assemble in the center of the top area of the dance platform and when everyone is quieted down, hears the messaged delivered from above. The 'dragon' race extends their appreciation for the 'tribute' the villagers have provided for this current year's event and another table is beamed down with the latest versions of technology and other life improvements for the villagers. Once that is done, the princes and their brides are beamed up into the waiting space ship and are soon on their way to the home planet as the villagers all explode into much cheering and gregarious exuberance!
