Description
One of the latest crazes to sweep through the girls of St Tibb's High School is the smartphone app Lemur Sanctuary.
It is very similar to Pokemon Go, with the main gameplay involving going out to actual locations and acquiring creatures. Unlike Pokemon, however, the lemurs that a player collects are not used to battle against others but are looked after in a player's own Sanctuary. Another difference is that lemurs at locations are finite, and once a player takes the last lemur from a place, there are no more lemurs for further players to take from there. More lemurs are introduced to locations by having players breed new litters.
Each lemur 'out in the wild' is based on real-life lemur species, and their starting population numbers depended on how endangered the real-life species is. Now, after several months of the game in progress, these numbers are based less on the real-world populations and more on how all the players have interacted and 'bred' their lemurs since the game began.
Players may breed the same species from their individual Sanctuaries when they meet and agree to a breeding taking place. The result will be a litter of new babies of that particular species, available for other players to collect from the location where the breeding occurred.
It is rumoured (but not yet confirmed) that when the global population of all 100 lemur species in all players' Sanctuaries reaches some high (but reachable) number, something will be unlocked. Whether this be an end sequence to the game or another level or whatever else, no one knows but speculation about what it might be is rife among avid players.
In this picture, we see Madeleine Forrester showing Zheng Xiulan and Felicity Byron the latest acquisitions to her Sanctuary, while Joelle Whitson keeps a look-out for school staff. (Use of a mobile device during school hours is forbidden at St Tibb's, so the girls are taking a big risk here. But that is how addicted some of them are to this game!)

I have even more at my much more active account over at DeviantArt. Same username but a ton extra uploads. Some of them even expand on the Lemur Sanctuary app!
