Scattered throughout the Shallows of the Southern Expanse are what are known as the "Faraway Stations." From these stations travellers are able to signal a passing vessel to pick them up for a modest fee. Due to the Ad Hoc nature of this type of travel getting around can be chaotic at times, however, the busier of these stations are sometimes visited by the locals two or three times a day on a regular basis, some of the more organised communities even have a rudimentary timetable for pickups and destinations posted at their local stations. At other stations you may find a trader selling trinkets, local produce, and if you're lucky, a cold beer or two.
