We also have a black cat, that was a stray, and we adopted him years ago. I noticed you have a Nikon D3500 camera, and you used the "effects" setting for your picture. I have the Nikon D3300. There is a setting that allows you to be selective on which colors get recorded in the picture. For instance, you can have the camera recognize only shades of red and ignore all others. The picture will then be a B&W picture with only shades of red showing up in the B&W picture. It's really quite cool. For instance, you can photograph a girl in a red dress, and only her dress will show up red, everything is B&W. It reallys draws the eye immediately to that part of the picture. I think advertising has used it on occasion for pictures. I've tried it, it's cool. After activating the setting, you photograph red close up, filling the frame, and then pictures after that will show the effect I just decribed. Try it out. :o)
