My goodness Maddelirium made some beautiful characters for V4!!
I was doing "inventory renders" of the V4 characters I hadn’t yet tried out (from my rather large collection), and when I got to MDD’s Mystique, I thought the face masks were so pretty I wanted to try doing a portrait with one of them. I’ve never done a portrait like this, so I figured it would be a good learning experience.
I also wanted to experiment with portrait expressions b/c they’re awfully subtle!

Thanks so much for the comment! I esp. like MDD's more unusual characters and look forward to coming up with scenes for some of them. I stopped buying "regular human" characters for V4 a few years ago, but I'll still buy unusual or non-human characters when they go on sale b/c they're so fun to work with! Same with hair.

Thanks so much for the comment! I know the expression is subtle, but I dialed in quite a few things to try and get a bit of a "slightly amused" look. It's hard to see her brows with the mask, though!

Thank you so much, madame! I wanted a hair style that would show off the mask (rather than hide it behind bangs), and this one worked out well! It has an option to make the hair "bigger," which I dialed in a few times until it looked "just right" :-)
MDD is one of the few vendors of skin for V4 that gets SSS right "out of the box," so I didn't even have to run this one through EZSkin!

Great portrait, Amy. I think you nailed the very slight smile and direct look into the camera as a portrait pose. The content looks great, especially the detail in the mask and the hair (hair is also a concern in such a close up picture). Thank you for sharing!
