Description
The operations around the barge had been going on for two days , with the massive sand brown planet as a back drop to all the activity. His silhouette against the stars, even in the low lighting showed that his attention was in a different direction all together.
It was at this moment that she had a sudden and unexpected realization; since he had released her from slavery, he had come to know virtually everything about her. Nurturing and encouraging her to be the best engineering officer she could be. She glanced back at the robot just outside the still open door. Yet, all she knew of him was that he had been raised by a Klingon officer. She suddenly felt a tinge of guilt for not knowing more about the man who had saved her life.
"Not a very polite thing, Blue." His voice hushed, but distinctive in the silence. "Spying on your Captain could be considered a punishable offense."
"Sorry, Sir." She flinched. She knew there was a hint of humor in his voice, but the hint of punishment sent her mind reeling back in time. "I was doing a ship systems survey. This was my last check of the day. I didn't mean to intrude."
"Just watching all the activity." He went on, though she knew that was not what he had been doing, she allowed that the slide by. "So no worries." He turned to face her. "Bring up the lights."

I like this darkened room image; and the story, nice colour contrast, too.
