Description

.............ThePool................... Well with no theme of the week i was let loose in the OccupationalRehab section of my brain and built the pool i'd most like to be in now. The pillars started as a 72 sec disk which i grabbed a range of every 3rd piont and scaled down in the Z X and extrudedwith 6 sections. Then made the joints,2 along the pillar and subgroups at top and bottom which were smoothed and remodelled to expand out,and the subgroups were textured with RJDimplesR.itx i think.Copied and pasted 21 more.the pool was made from an xetruded profile, copied and pasted and joined, and a bottom added, the walls were originally a hemisphere, quartered, and the parts moved to the 4 corners, joined back together and the sides made with add to edge line. The bottom edge was then extruded down to form the walls, window panels were then popped(split)out and more smaller pillars i had on hand were adder for decoration.Added a water plane ans a background on a plane so it would reflect in the water and ticketyboo..18 render hours later ,...wanna go for a dip.Comments welcome...thanx for viewing...don't forget to vote

basically the whole room is in shadow with early morning sunlight creeping in and bouncing off reflective surfaces...you can see the sunlight on the floor near the end windows...it's about 10:00 AM where ever this is.and the end lights send out a combined light that cancelled all the shadows they cast it seems.kind of like real life...lol....re:volumetrics,I knew you'd be in a hurry t see something new so i decieded to skip vol. in favour of getting it rendered this century

The reflections in the water are definitevely nice but the abscence of shadows gives a washed look to the overal pic. I mean that the color intensity look the same everywhere and so, I was thinking about this, maybe very bright areas would be as good as shadows to help the perception of 3d.

Great render. I would remove the top light and put in a skylight which would give the scene a more Roman feel.

good thought online,I may just implement that, sans glass tho as I've already got a fair biy of reflection happening.

You are so clever to be able to do this kind of stuff. As a photographer, I wouldn't know where to start! But it is nice!

Thanks atvale...'twas done a loooong time ago in Imagine3D, a now abandon-ware program available at imagine3d.org , and seeing it again might just take it into my current favorite program Terragen 2_3....
