Description

I think I'm finally getting a handle on Poser5. I haven't come up with a name for this character. But, I've been reading the Star Wars New Jedi Order series and maybe this would be a good representation for Jaina Solo. Thanks to _dodger for helping me with the problems I was having with his lightsaber props. Spywear by DAZ. Lighting by PoserStyle. Some postwork done in Photoshop 5.

I love the perspective in this piece. Jaina's sabre blade has more of a purple or violet hue.

I gotta admit this is the best SW based peice I've seen in here. Gotta love Dodger's Lightsabers.

Looks good. Very nice composition. To share the lightsabre thing, I use P4, not even PPP. I've recently found that in P5 there's a new 'ambience strength' setting that didn't use to be there. Were I a programmer at CL, I'd have suggested they make that P5 ambience strength take it's value from the luminosity of the ambient colour if the value is NULL (undefined, not zero) to avoid this. Maybe the P5 users could make a stink about it to them? Anyway, the trick to getting my lightsabres (and fireprops and magick and such) to work in P5 involves one of two tricks, from what I hear. Either set the ambient strength to 1 (100%, full) OR, I've HEARD but not verified, that you can also set this with a map. If you use a map, use the same map as the texture for the blade. I know in 3DSMax the trick is to use the texture map for the texture AND for the ambience (self-lighting) and it looks good that way.
