Description
Navarre felt alive again as he relieved Mr.Aurelius of his watch. Several days on station as they off-loaded their barge to the planet, with the aide of the many pirate vessels that had arrived. So many Pirate vessels swarming in the area had made the little crew anxious. He dropped into the seat, placing the report compiled by Blue on the console, along with his morning drink and a computer padd. Punching the intercom ket at the bottom of the console, he leaned back with a broad smile.
"Engineering." He called out. "You on station, Blue?"
"On station, Captain." Her young excited voice responded sharply.
"Good. We're breaking orbit and then we'll be going to warp three."
"Three?" Her voice almost cracked. "Just like that?"
"We're not moving cargo here, Blue. So we're back to work. We have cargo waiting on our return to Federation space." He smiled as he fired the impulse engines and began to swing the ship away from the planet. "Going to warp in two minutes."
"Warp three." She stammered. "Aye, Sir."
"Good girl." He shook his head. He could see the engineering panel from his position, and all indicators and gauges were in their correct settings. He had generally eased the warp speeds up gradually, but with no cargo in tow changed the procedure. He punched in the speed and course heading, then held his hand just above the activation button as he watched the time. He didn't want to throw her off to much this morning.

He sounds relieved to be getting away; time to test out all the improvements Blue has made.

oh yes. Thank you for the comment. I understand his thinking. too much idle time, to much time for the mind to think. Work is better.
