Not offended, no. A wee bit grossed out, but then I tend to have a queasy stomach about such things, particularly since having had a fishhook through my own thumb. What is or is not wrong about this image depends largely upon your intent in creating it. And although this has turned out very well technically, just because you take a long time doing something doesn't necessarily make it good. Just a few thoughts.

her skin color or texture seems a bit too "fake" compared to the rest of the image. All in all, this came out very well. Great job with th epost work and kudos on the originality. Nice work.

The reason why I ask if you are offended is because I had posted this image yesterday 01/02/03 and then this AM I found that it was removed from my gallery. Was thinking that the Renderosity Police took the image down because of the content. Thanks for the input

Offended, no not really. Not my favorite piece of art (most of them here are not), but very well executed. I think your concept and execution of that concept does deserve some merit. I have had pics deleted from Renderosity and did not agree with the reasons stated by the staff. You also need to remember this is not your web site, nor is it mine or any of the artist who post here and when in anothers house you should respect their rules. Just common courtesy. I hope this picture stays. I think personal statement in art, no, personal statement IS art. What, are we only to make pretty pics to look at?

i personally think its disgusting but well done, i also think that as long as there's a warning on pictures (about violence) you should be able to post anything you want to.Art is ideas, no ones inspiration should be censored.

offended??? not in the least....grossed out???? hardly....the only thing about this that could stand change is a less surprised look in exchange for more agony, and perhaps a more submissive pose.....but that's just me ;) you should make this image the beginning of a series......

I do not find it offensive. I see an image with a second meaning, other than just art. I see a figure finding that we are all just puppets, and sometimes the strings that hold us also hurt. Cut the strings, some of the pain leaves, yet, you are left, not knowing a path for itself. Good image and well done.

you're work is very striking. i enjoy all of your awesome creations. this girl in this work of art very much looks like me. i have the same hair, eyes, and piercings. not to mention the demented thinking of hurting myself. =p keep up the fantastic work! you by far are my favorite artist of all time!!!

Hi, and thanks for the comment on my 'Sufferance' piece. I thought I'd check the piece out you asked me too. And I'm not offended in the least. I like the concept beind the piece, and it conveys emotion which is what art is supposed to do. Technically you did a great job on this piece, the pulled skin work is well done. The image it's self is done well. You did a great job on this, and I don't believe this is the work of a twisted mind as chippie pointed out. Art is about expression, and we are free to express any emotions/feelings we so wish be them good or bad :) Well done.
