Bad situations CAN lead to bad dreams. Her expression implies she believes its a dream. He lighting leaves us all wondering. You weave interesting stories which lead me to believe ithe spider COULD be quite real. If it is , the scene will dramatically change.

Bad dream? I'd say that one's a nightmare! Unless of course the spider is civilized and just wants to invite her to have tea :-)
