Description

Captain Faith never seemed to be a very playful person. Most people that dealt with her would say she was a reserved, serious, and slightly cold person. But most people weren’t around her as much as Elias Roth. Around him, especially when they were mostly alone, she was quite a different person. Her whole persona seemed to relax like letting out a held breath. When she would drink a little too much her Irish roots would emerge, and its accent would slide delicately though her tongue and she would sound as a girl from Derry. She would also become very playful, but playful like a child. They were at a high station meant to be a transfer point for an asteroid belt. The ship they were traveling developed a problem and Faith limped the ship there for repairs. While the station was open for business there was indeed quite little business being done. Fact was most of the station was empty like an old earth Truckstop at a little used highway exit. Where the maintenance shop, bar/diner, and motel were the only things running. Faith and Roth found the diner rather bland the alcohol was first rate. With Faith’s accent building she suggested they play hide and seek and took off with a devilish smile. Roth while a little concerned decided to let his Captain have a little well-deserved fun. He waited a little and then joined her game. He knew it likely would not take too long to find her as in this game he knew, she wanted him to find her. After a short time he heard her. “Pew..pew..pew.. die ye pirate scum!” He “found” her in the unused daycare playroom. She had found a small rocket rider and had crammed herself into the tiny cockpit and was in the process of riding it like one might ride a mechanical bull ride. Clearly she had forgotten about the hide and seek game and moved to Serepha, the pirate hunter in which she was having a very high time. Roth walked up and crouched, “Ahoy there me fine privateer queen.” He said with a passable pirate brogue and a smile. Faith looked up at him and her smile beamed. “Avast there captain perfect hair, be ye looking to board me and take me a prize?” She rolled brightly still making the toy bend perilously to it limits. “Shiver me timbers no, I be wantin’ to parley with ye.” He said in mock surprise. Her eyes twinkled. “Parley…You have something for trade ya say.” She said slowing only slightly. He nodded and smiled. “Well then Cap’n perfect hair. Ye better lay along side so I can see your trade.” Faith said offering her hand to help her out of the small ride.. ….a deal was struck..
