I'm afraid she's about to get a not-so-friendly tap on the shoulder! Love her jungle outfit!

When finalizing this image, I thought of Joan Fontcuberta's Fauna Secreta series, which fascinatingly deconstructs the relationship between art and science, particularly in the field of teratology. His work is not presented as that of a visual artist, but as that of someone who has discovered the archives of an unknown scientist. the exhibition of this series aims to test the spectator's adherence to what is presented, between disbelief and fascination. It is in this in-between that my image is also located.

Wonderful work; the texture and desaturation really give it the feel of an old phot faded with time, and the composition recalls some of the photos of the early 20th century explorers. A great tribute and twist on Trace's work.

Very interesting! I read your reply to Perpetualrevision with interest. The effort to make the image appear to be a faded photograph adds to the creepy sense that it might represent something that is real but as yet undiscovered. I like the mature female explorer a lot. I like seeing such characters (maybe because I'm getting old enough to be one myself XD ). Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy viewing. =)
