Many years ago I owned the hardtop version of that car! I called it the "swiss cheese Cadillac" because it had so many rust holes in it, but it still ran and drove like a dream! I took it with me from Illinois to Colorado Springs. When I got it, the fender skirts wouldn't stay on, I never was able to get that fixed, and when I got to Colorado Springs, someone stole the wheel covers off of it! But I still loved the car. It was a sort of burnt-orange copper color with a cream landau vinyl top, and a black-and-white houndstooth interior!

What a sweet memory for you 'cardo, except for the thievery and the rust! I had a 1976 Eldorado convertible that had a little bit of rust on it but it didn't show on the body at all! It was about the same color as you described yours, only leaning perhaps more to a bit of a tannish golden color with a wonderfully tan matching top! I loved that car as well and took it on a few trips but never more than about 500 or 600 miles from home. Ah yes, it is fun to remember our past vehicles that managed to bring us joy and pleasure at some level(s). I have to shed a tear at their passing as well. Many thanks for sharing your memories with me! I greatly appreciate you doing so!!!!!

This dude's got it made! Two classics in one day... An F-86, then a trip home in a classic Caddy! Very cool work on this, Bill!

Cool looking classic convertible Cadillac. Super shine on the paint and great color!

Better shine on the Eldo than the F86....I remember the very expensive white Bicentennial convertibles that were mean to be instant collectibles...couldn't give them away a few years after. Wonder if they've come back?

superb work Bill. the Caddie is very sharp. I use to watch the F86 jets fly by my mother's home on their way to Douglas

How reassuring that he has such a precision-built ride after his voyage into the clouds. Excellent!

Nicely done... I know both the aircraft and the automobile are vintage but the auto, in particular, looks lovely. It's fun that he reflects in the car and the car reflects in his pressure suit/armor. XD
