This was inspired by Summoner's "Reaction Room." The ominous generator-like thing on the rear wall seemed to remind me of something, but I couldn't figure it out until yesterday. Isaac Asimov's short story "Reason" involved a space station that beamed solar energy to Earth. A newly assembled advanced robot QT-1 could not believe that (obviously inferior) humans were responsible for the creation of such technology and insisted that a god-like "Master" controlled the Universe. In QT-1's mind the large "energy converter" device in the station was "The Master." That's what I remembered. Yes, that story was published in Astounding in April 1941. This is the first time I put a real story on one of my pseudo-magazine covers. I hope that doesn't violate any rules, since I am attributing it correctly.
