This is an idea I’ve had for a long time. I’m not sure how this idea came to me, I just know I’ve had it for a long time. I wasn’t sure exactly what I’d have once I finished but I started with the basic idea of a desperate girl in an hourglass as sand poured down. Everything else about the piece came about as I was creating it and I rather like how it turned out.

It's a beautiful and moving image, Lizzie - and the feeling of sometimes being trapped in our own little worlds as time marches inexorably on is communicated very well here. Personally, I've felt like this quite a bit lately with all that's going on, plus fighting off a bit of depression.
I've always found it fascinating how an image / artwork will "speak" to the creator as the creative process takes place.

I think many of us have felt like this at some point or another. :) I do hope you get feeling better, Rod. From personal experience, I know that depression will pass eventually. It's sure tough to get past it though. I guess that's why it feels so good once you do get past it. Take care and thank you! <3
