Description

"I know Gregor and your sister, Elizabeth. The young lady is the candidate, Yes?" Ghostly Grace murmured. "There's something about her, Elizabeth..." Under her breath Professor Van Humbeek mumbled, "Hush, now, Grace. They can't see you so just watch and listen and try not to distract me until the interview finishes!" Lena, Gregor and Dorotea had meanwhile entered at the Professor's invitation and walked through the huge study toward the Professor's desk. "Not to worry, little sister, just be truthful and all will be well!" Gregor told his sister. "Am not child, Gregor!" Lena retorted. "Am grown person who has just seen ghost. Will be fine. Just Fine!" Dorotea watched the interchange thoughtfully and considered what her own role might be in the interview. Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.757 then composited for ghostly transparency and tweaked in Photoshop. Professor Elizabeth Van Humbeek, Ghostly Grace and Dorotea are all based upon the La Femme mesh. Gregor is based on L'Homme. Vladlena is based on the Bela 1.2 mesh. The Professor's study is by RPublishing. #VladlenaB

A very stately looking office for the Professor! Wonderful décor and excellent details! Things progress most wonderfully in this story line! Really love how you are spoon feeding us this one along with all your other magnificent works! Many fine praises from me to you on all your works!!!!

Actually, I didn't use DoF rendering at all on this one and the skydome being slightly blurred worked to my advantage and really gave a nice feeling of depth. Thanks for commenting, I always enjoy hearing from you!

Excellent work on this! Love how you handled the ghost here. Super work!

Thanks, Rod! I made her a little more vaporous than usual as I want to imply that she is not visible to anyone but the Professor. It's hard as I do want her to be visible to someone like you who is following the story. It's very helpful to me to know that you liked the result! =)

the room is awesome from this distance/point of view. brother and sister's relationship is getting a little strained; I suppose ghostly visions can be a bit un-nerving. Lena's tense pose with the out stretched fingers is perfect.

Thank you so much for the assessment! It was hard to make Lena look stressed since we are viewing her from behind and the tense, straight fingers were a definite cue that I wasn't sure worked. =) The room is GREAT, isn't it?

The crew returns :)

Almost missed Grace by the desk. I like the blurry dome also - gives the impression of size and depth as you wanted.

I forgot - do Grace and Dorotea communicate telepathically or something similar? Otherwise Dorotea might get caught verbalizing at an awkward moment and suffer accusation of speaking to herself, though somehow I don't think she's care....

Thanks, JD. That's helpful feedback. I made Grace a bit less visible to help the story-follower remember that she will only be apparent to Elizabeth unless she exerts herself to manifest to the others.

The only person Grace has this close a connection to is the Professor, Elizabeth, although she has manifested to Gregor and the Professor's sister, Dorotea, on occasion. The connection between Elizabeth and Grace is near psychic but in order for Elizabeth to communicate with Grace she has to speak. I was inspired for this by a very old TV show from the BBC called Randall and Hopkirk (deceased). The deceased detective in that show appeared only to his partner. At the moment, that's the situation I'm trying to portray: Grace is present and only the professor can "see" and "hear" her at the moment. If Elizabeth chooses to speak to Grace she WOULD seem to be talking to herself. Dang; I do go on! >.<

Poor Lena! So many new and unsettling experiences in a relatively short period of time! I hope the interview helps to relieve some of her stress! Lovely use of that amazing Gothic Room set :-)

Thanks, Amy. Lena's story has gotten pretty complicated: fleeing from likely imprisonment in her home country, under surveillance in this county, applying for work using fraudulent paperwork, meeting a ghost; and, there's more coming. XD

As for the room, I had been dying to use it and planned it as the Professor's study. It has not disappointed! =)

I like your prosecution story and the beautiful pictures and I wonder whats tgoing on with Lena, she needs strong nerves :-)

MollyFootman

3:47PM | Tue, 27 September 2022

Thanks, Anne! Lena has been the main character in this story and her escape from Russia, learning her paperwork has been forged by her well-meaning brother, seeing her younger brother in a crisis apparition and now about to sit for an important interview? It would make me a nervous wreck if I was her. XD

Yes you are right, I would be also. But she escaped from Russia, meaning that she is very tough and so I think she will do it very well! :-)

Of course, there's more story to tell but she is my hero in this story and as such we will keep cheering for her success! <3
