I think the owl is also listening for for the neighborhood gossip! (I've been listening to The Burgess Bird Book for Children each evening, as I fall asleep, and those birds are awfully chatty. Though in truth, Peter Rabbit is the biggest gossip of them all :-) The owl's eyes look wonderfully intense, and the backdrop looks like something I might see in my area (NW of Denver). Lovely!
