Three sexy Chevrolets! 1961 was a unique year, and I love that "bubble top" design! A lady in my hometown had a 4-door sedan, I think it might have been a BelAir, though. She was a single mother with two sons, one a year older than me (who I had a mad crush on) and the other was three years younger. He was a cutie, too. I don't know what happened to their father. Anyway, I remember that family and that car, because I delivered newspapers to their house. Even when I was a teenager, and the car was well over ten years old, it didn't have a speck of rust on it, and it sat outside! That's almost unheard of in Illinois!!! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane!

Nice composition! Nice reflections! Why do they call them heavy? Do they weigh a lot?
Radar_rad-dude
Just a term I remembered from somewhere and thought I'd use it here. Don't recall exactly which Chevies they referred to, probably not this particular year, but I liked the feel of it in the title! Many thanks for your comment, my friend! I greatly appreciate it and your question.

The "Heavy Chevy" was a special package on a base model 1971-1972 Chevelle Sport Coupe. They were a no-frills car with special striping and other appearance items, including a blacked-out grille. They had the "domed" hood, and upgraded suspension. Special Side stripes and a rubber floor mat, no carpet. You could get it with any engine from 307-402. The 454 was only available in the SS.
