In 1933, a film crew sets sail to film the mysterious Skull Island. The ship becomes lost in fog and runs aground on the Island. While exploring the island the crew is attacked by natives, who kill 2 crew members. Meanwhile, a native sneaks on board the ship, and captures a beautiful actress Ann Darrow. The natives then offer Ann as a sacrifice to King Kong, a gigantic ape. Jack Driscoll, the film screenwriter, and Ann's love interest set off with set off to rescue Ann into the jungle. Also hoping to capture footage of the giant ape. Ann wins Kong affection as the crew follow them through the jungle. As it turns out the island is a home to all sort of gigantic, and extinct animals including dinosaurs. Many of the crew are killed as they follow Kong deeper into the jungle. Realizing he's being followed, Kong eventually attacks the crew while crossing a deep ravine on a large fallen tree. Kong kills many of the crew by tossing the tree into the ravine. Jack Driscoll, finds Kong's lair and accidentally awakens the beast but manages to escape with Ann. Kong attempts to get Ann back, killing several crew members, but is knocked out by chloroform. The crew manage to get Kong back to New York, and while on display breaks free of his shackles, destroying the theater, and begins searching for Ann. Kong eventually finds Ann, and seeks safety from the perusing Army, by climbing the Empire State Building. The Military send 6 planes to attack Kong on the top of the Empire State Building. Kong sets Ann down, and manages to destroy 3 of the planes before scumming to a multitude of machine-gun bullets, and falls to his death onto the street below.
