Description

New romantic hairstyle. A bit tired this morning, watched the "Big DAZ Surprise Show" last night. Unexpectantly they introduced G9, which is a combo version male/female again (a brand new idea as long as you don't remember the first Genesis figure...). Not surprising: it requires even more powerful machines and of course will not be compatible with G8/8.1 because they renamed the parts (amongst other things). Hoorayyy. There seems to be a some pose converter, though. But after the massive sales throughout the year this doesn't come as a surprise.

Stunning render you made here. I love her smile! I probably won't be getting into Genesis 9 for a while. Just because you introduced a new Genesis figure doesn't mean anything. Of course Daz does this because they need to bolster their sales. There's nothing wrong with Genesis 8/8.1.

It sure is trying to get a bigger milking pail under their customer's butt. I don't mind improvement, but what irks me is that they killed compatibility with the argument of follwing "industrial standards" (most people I know use it as a hobby anyways) and also that now you have male and female figures in one set. (AGAIN, and I still recall that they claimed that fitting clothes was too difficult when they introduced G2 vs Genesis, which had exactly the same feature). And the killer of all: they saw to that the textures can not be used from older figures. This I guess will be solved by one of the lesser gods of transformation, at least for HD textured figures of G8). Admittedly I am tempted, but I guess until I know I can use my rather extensive runtime content in future I'll stick with G8, and if they don't get that sorted Gโˆž

I would say she's adorable but your image is simply wonderful...her smile, her look are priceless. Where Daz are concerned, I'm sorry to say you're not right : they ONLY think of us and make new characters to make us happy ! They NEVER NEVER think of making more money ! I swear !

What a marvellously characterful image!

...And I'm with you all the way about genesis. I have invested far too much time and effort on V4, then Genesis, then g3. I draw the line at g9. I doubt it will add anything of genuine use to the resources I already have, and my rig struggles with the memory and resource requirements of the current generation of DAZ products as it is. Ho hum.
