McDougal roared with laughter as I sat opposite him, the bartender of The Gigar Bar was a huge, monsterous man, overweight, but intimidating all the same to anybody but his friends. The Gigar Bar itself was situated down near Animoid Row, it was high up in one of the commercial blocks that scattered around the alleylike marketplaces peddling everything from cheap implants to genetic replicants of any animal you could ever want or imagine. The bar was this guy's livelyhood, rumour had it he never left, merely slept in the office out back. It was a typical theme bar, decked out like the old sci-fi movies from years ago, it was never busy, but never empty.
