Description
"You're taller than I expected," I said by way of small talk as I snapped pictures of the fairy. "Nearly as tall as me, really."
Piper giggled. "Not all the Fae are wee folk, Molly. All are magical, though."
The studio cat, Max, hissed at a small creature lurking at the periphery of the picture. "Max likes you well enough, Piper, but he's not so fond of these little photo bombers that followed you into the studio."
This provoked another musical giggle from the fairy. "They would have their way with me if the spell in my tiara didn't ward them off. I hardly notice them lurking around anymore since they can't even touch me with the warding spell active."
"Yeah. Well. Eww!" I replied.
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.1029 and then tweaked for saturation and a bit of a vignette in Photoshop. Piper is V4 with modifications from Steffi at Little Designs (you need to check her out if cute is your thing!). Max is the Hivewire3D housecat. The Goblins are stand alone figures that I think are by Sixus1; Mike got them long before I started fooling with Poser and I can't find them anywhere these days (they are called "Goblinz" actually). The set and HDRI lighting are by Afrodite-Ohki; her set "Level Up!" for Superfly is indispensable.
A word about the subject matter: I am a novice at doing "cute" characters. My mentors are Kelchris3 and PerpetualRevision here at Renderosity. There are others but I am chiefly inspired by those two wonderfully creative ladies. Here I am messing about with cuteness but I still can't resist injecting an aspect of peril into my picture. I don't know that I will use this character for any stories but she might play well in my fantasy stories featuring the Odd Couple (Jorl Bloodbringer and the Cat Girl).
Let me know if you have any thoughts about all that. 😉

this is wonderful! the fairy is cute and the goblins are simply perfect lurking around like that. the reflections are excellent.

Thank you, my dear. I love using that mirror set that comes with the Level Up content by Afrodite-Ohki. I do change the material in the mirrors to yield a better reflection. I started out with the Fairy alone but felt something was missing.... Ah! Goblins!! XD

Thank you so much, LP. I'm so glad someone takes the time to look at the full size picture as details can be the most entertaining bits of a picture. You picked up on my favorite detail! <3

Great balance, like all great fairytales a hint of darkness always peps things up. For some reason this had me thinking of Rosetti's "Goblin Market"; something about those leering green guys...
MollyFootman
I had to look up "Goblin's Market". I can certainly see the connection with my nasty little photo bombers. XD Your insight regarding darkness in Fairy Tales interested me and makes me feel a bit less cheap about often adding some hint of jeopardy to my pictures. XD

Thanks, Annie. You would not believe how long I messed with positioning the mirror to get decent and interesting reflections! >.<

The blues jump out at ya...:)

I'll bet you can guess what my favorite color is!
The only problem with so much blue is the reflections in Piper's eyes make it nearly impossible to see her lovely green irises. I'll have to do at least one more picture with different lighting and background just for that. XD

Indeed, not all Fae are wee folk.. Kinnie (Arquinia) smiled when she read that part! 😁 And... They can hide their wings as well. They walk among us...
This is delightful, Molly! I love the cat reacting to that mug-buggly goblin dude! LOL
MollyFootman
It's funny you should mention the matter of the Fae being able to pass as human. I was thinking of doing some more pictures of Piper as a human living among the rest of us mortals. As for the cat and the Goblin, I really enjoy adding little details like that and it is so pleasing to have you comment upon it. =D

Absolutely adorable! I love that we can see the fairy from all angles, and the goblins (and the cat's reaction) are hilarious! Very nicely done :-)
MollyFootman
Oh thank you! Such a lovely comment means so much when it comes from one of my chief inspirations to try to bring a bit of cute fairy-ness to life! <3
