This remembers me a scene while going to my locker room after basketball training when gymnasts had the door opened wide and I could admire them training, including Nadia Comaneci training on parallel bars. I naively thought the white powder they used could have been talc powder so I asked if that's the case. She smiled and said no, then I saw her hand with deep cut valleys - actually open wounds from bars - and I said, this is how you do it? She said yes but, we are accustomed to it. I think I instantly got pale white, I said thanks and turned my back quiclky so she can't see me weeping. She shortly aftter that got her first 10 ever in gymnastics but every time I've got that picture in my mind it makes me weep like an idiot, even I'm ice cold hearted.
