I decided to revisit my vampire portrait and change the lighting. I found to my dismay that I'd already used a HDRI environment, so it wasn't that that made the first one so dimly lit. So I popped in TerraLuna and used one of the moons for lighting, and then gave him a rim light because everyone else's portraits (painted, mind you, but still) had them. It worked wonders! I was worried that it wouldn't look like a nighttime scene anymore, but the stark shadows help with that, and the background. And those hard shadows also impart a more thematic mood since he's goin' through some stuff (I mean, V:tM is all about angst, right?) and this image shows that a little better and looks just a little less...human?...than the first version.
