The Goddess Erato V
In college I aced my Finite State Automata class back in the '70s. Finite State Automata is what has led to AI. FSA is a difficult thing to explain to people who haven't studied it, but basically, things move from one state to another based in certain conditions and results. When I look at the open source building blocks for programs like PlaygroundAI, they look just like an FSA diagram, except the circles have been replaced with squares with arrows going in or out. It's kind of cool to think that what I learned 50 years ago before there was a P.C., Internet or World-Wide Web.
Now, I'm using an FSA to create art. For this old geezer, that's a pretty cool thought that I've lived long enough to see FSA's put to use to create.
Hmmm... I wonder if they teach FSA to Computer Science majors in colleges these days? I'll have to ask some CompSci majors. They probably still teach it to electrical engineering students, but do they teach it to those dealing with software???
