Description
I was too young to remember the cuban missile crisis, but I don't think hidding under your school desk is going to do a lot of good in a nuclear strike. Sad and dangerous world we live in...
Midjourney, Stonemason city ruins for Daz Studio and a bit o' PS...

I do remember it man I was like 12 in 4th or 5 grade we did practice desk diving but my school also had a basement that served as a bomb shelter we practiced getting there too. It wasn't just for Cuba, This was in Wichita KS and because Boing Aircraft Military MFG Division was there building B-52s and McConnel Airforce Base was a SAC Base flying the Nuclear loaded B-52s for SAC readiness flew in and out all the time made us a First Strike target. Would have been better if we practiced bending over sticking our heads between our legs and kissing our azzes goodbye. Ah those were the days
That Barry McGuire song is just as relevant today as when it was released

cool distopian scene

This is a terrific scene...certainly imparts the utter destruction, desolation that war can wreak. The Cuban missile crisis were moments of great anxiety--thank goodness the US had a President who stood up to the Soviets.

Humans need to create is second only to their need to destroy.
