Description
For those of you who haven't yet voted in the US mid-term elections, this is mostly for you.
Earth is facing an existential crisis, and time is running out.
Please do not vote for those politicians who deny Global Warming and who are in the pockets of the fossil fuel industry. Global Warming is not a hoax. Rather the hoax is being played out by the corrupt, paid-for-by-the-fossil-fuel-industry politicians and the millionaires/billionaires who only care about their personal wealth and power.
If the worst were to happen (and at the rate we are going in rising global temps, it will likely happen) the world's socioeconomic structures will collapse: food production and distribution, communications, banking, healthcare, etc. (I think you can get the picture) would end as we know them. Entire governments would collapse. Human migration would be at levels previously considered unimaginable. Starvation, uncontrolled diseases, crime rates, and all the other ugly stuff we really don't want to talk about would fly off the charts.
So, forget about inflation, etc. (those talking points (where no actual solutions are presented) are repeated endlessly by some now for political reasons) because these short-term problems will be rectified, sooner than later. But we share only one home, Earth, and she cannot be replaced.
Thanks for your time in reading this.

Hear hear! I'll add to that, for those who say it's too expensive to deal with at a time of economic crises in the west... The cost of funding climate change adaptation for the continent of Africa would cost about $15 billion. A LOT of money, admittedly ...but the current loss to the global economy due to lack of climate change adaptation in Africa is $200 billion. We can't afford NOT to do this!

Excellent work!

I couldn't have said it better! Lets hope that the changes that need to happen, do so for the sake of humanity...this planet is running out of time! :-)

Oh, don't even get me started...... I'll be saying things that will get me arrested. The fact that that pathetic, blond-wigged, racoon-faced, arrogant, walking pile of elephant dung is still walking around spouting off his obnoxious bulls**t instead of sitting in the deepest, darkest dungeon we can find (or standing in front of a firing squad) tells me everything I need to know about the state this country is in. It makes me sick. He's a thief, a liar, a wanna-be dictator, and a traitor.
And the rest of the f-ing lunatics currently running countries aren't much better. Unless "we the people" do some serious house-cleaning, I hold little hope for the planet.
You have no idea how many times I've wished I had a real TNA at my disposal to take care of lots of issues - under the radar...

Vastly awesome creation my friend. I myself is staying away from voting. Zero interest in the election.

Sorry to hear that, Steve, but, you do realize that, if things were to go sideways with the environment, folks who don't care enough about our collective future to vote against the fossil fuel industry's handmaidens in the US Congress actually haven't a right to complain--no jumping on the bandwagon after the fact.

Very beautiful! Great scene here and I love all the details. A job well done my dear friend ππββοΈπ I hope the elections in the US can go in the right direction. I fully agree with you Goldie and I very much hope that politicians in Europe are also consistent with what is happening to the climate.βπ§βοΈπ₯΅β‘οΈπβοΈπ¬π¬

your comments are totally welcome...voting, elections, respect, non-violence are all in the mix today, but climate hangs over everything, and what you wrote is dead on. There was a conference in grad school on climate (and this was in the late 70s!), and the head of the conference leaned into the crowd and said: "People: These are serious f----g cards!" Because journalists were treating it like it was a small problem...Everything has come true, this could be one of the most significant elections of our lifetimes. I hope the whole country hears your message. (I wish today would last a month: I feel like we're in suspended time, dangling over a precipice.) Good god, the research on climate is "in," the evidence is over-freaking-whelming, we need to get all the brains together and solve this...we split the freaking atom for god's sake, we can do this. Thanks for the upload. (Oh---and the image is through the roof---I love it! A city overcome by nature gone wild, nature doing what it's always done, thriving on its own regardless of human activity. Great accompanying image!)

A good visual metaphor fitting perfectly to the words.
Concerning the ongoing debate vote or not I would suggest to take aΒ΄higher "viewpoint": Its not about reactionary vs. progressive Neoliberalism, but a massive constitutional crisis. The Fathers could not imagine, that checks and balances would not function anymore and populists take over, So choose wisely, but also engage for constitutional reform, I suggest ..

I see that many people on RR understand what our future will be and what must be made!

Global warming ... well the carbon level is constantly rising with all those Russian Tanks ... plus the threat of a food shortage with the damage done to Ukraine - and then all those fools who don't give a dam - oh and what about an asteroid hitting us? unlikely - but that Russian maniac has the firing buttons for his nuclear weapons ... and as for the woke insanity and the constant compaining and whining from people looking for something to complain about... This is not the world I was born into all those years ago.
If we reach January without being blown to Hades I shall be grateful. All the old certainties have gone, and Lord only knows where we will be by the end of 2023.
