A film noir in broad daylight! I immediately thought of a tragic end to Hopper's painting, Office at night, where the tension between the two characters is palpable. Your image is unfortunately topical, in France it is the week of the fight against violence against women. I see your female character more like a victim; what makes the strength of your image are these implicit round trips of violence. If this woman knocked out (killed?) a man, it's because the situation pushed her over the edge. The scene is set: it is the territory of Monsieur, the chef; he has put his hat down, and mademoiselle is only his secretary to do everything (we guess the most ignoble). The first aggressor is therefore this alienating office life: the work that piles up, the harassment that we guess, the to do list. There's a body near the wastebasket just as there would be a corpse in the closet! the woman is beautiful, desirable, strong and fragile at the same time, looking at her nails is a gesture of compensation. She thinks back to the scene, or protects herself by avoiding thinking about it. In a way, she is already building her own prison, her body is scratched, lacerated, by the shadows coming from the Venetian blinds, like so many prison bars. The light itself is very hard, with shadows marking her body. Finally the needle of the heel of her shoe remains suspended above the ground like the last blade of this violence which has just taken place, and which prevents her from regaining her stability, to put her feet on the ground and to advance in her life. The spectacle of disaster takes on a frightful beauty.

As she's on the right side of the image, I guess she has no future *...just joking ! it's a marvelous image.

I suspect she plays by her own rules!

And looking at her clothes it remains to be hoped that she used her hands to knock him out.....
....and didn't stab him with her stilettos (don't know what YOU have been thinking....)
JoeJarrah
Well there's all sorts of options with office equipment lying about....

En effet méthode radicale, super composition et belles ombres sur le personnage.
