Description

This is a photo of a statue of a lion. It's affected by weather and wind and overgrown with nettles and ivy. I've edited the photo in various ways. Dear friends, thank you very much for your look.

well! When I first saw this, I thought it was part of your Halloween series. Now I see it's actually a photo of a statue. But your photo, as well as your postwork, makes it a perfect companion to your Halloween images. I love its empty eyes, and the wear-and-tear over its face. Like a ghost of a lion (rather than an actual lion). And all those leaves and berries---it's like the lion is weeping berries....or as if decay has fallen from the sky, and covered the lion. It's haunting and eerie and beautiful---great job on this. It's like a beast that once had great power, but now it stares at us from behind the veil of death, powerless to do more than yearn...You really got in the Halloween spirit! This is terrific.

Oh, really I'm totally impressed by, especially the last part of your text, Mark in which you are talking about that powerless lion. I'm a bit shocked, it's like a real kind of creep-event. Let's just say that we have conquered that lion, while the fear seems to be so completely near. And you are right, it was meant for Halloween (in 1st instance). Thank you so much, my friend. p.s. As soon as I succeed, I'll try to explain to you what this lion represents in my case.

thank you for your wonderful replies, Jacomina, I really appreciate them. Your work is 'electric', it communicates so many levels of feeling, it brings out all my words. And you always surprise me with new styles, new moods and explorations. It's not hard to respond to what you do---your work's a whole symphony.
